Service Sphere is proud to announce it's membership of the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA).

SCA is a non-profit, membership-based organisation that represents thousands of coffee professionals across the world, acting as a unifying force within the industry. Its purpose is to provide individuals with the resources and knowledge to improve their opportunities and connections in the global market. These benefits are provided via the research conducted by SCA, educational services offered and hosted events across the globe.

SCA takes great pride in its history of investigating the scientific principles of coffee; from physics and chemistry to sensory perception and agronomy. This research helps to develop education, best practices and standards which form the basis of the specialty coffee trade. Members also have access to market research and analysis that the SCA conducts, helping to inform economic strategies.

Scaled education programs are offered around the globe by authorised SCA trainers to develop passion and sharpen skills. These comprehensive programs offer invaluably knowledge and cover topics including Introduction to Coffee, Barista Skills, Brewing, Green Coffee, Sensory Skills, and Roasting.

SCA hosts some of the most exciting and talked about events across the globe all year round. The Seattle exhibition in April was a huge success, increasing the number of exhibitors and attracting record crowds. The World of Coffee event to be held in Amsterdam from 21-23 June is anticipated to follow suit.

Service Sphere has also become apart of the Coffee Technicians Guild (CTG), an official trade guild of the SCA dedicated to supporting the coffee industry through the development of professional technicians. The CTG aims to create a community of technicians who can provide mutual support and knowledge, as well as provide opportunities to develop skills and learn best practices.

Service Sphere values the work that SCA do and shares the organisations key mission to continually improve and develop the coffee industry.
